Description
The Alhambra is one of the most visited monuments in the world and also one of the hardest to understand without context. Every courtyard, every Arabic inscription and every room hides centuries of history, political decisions and dynastic intrigues that do not appear on the signs. This group guided tour is designed for those who already have their ticket and want to understand what they are seeing, not just photograph it.
The 3-hour tour passes through the three main areas of the complex with our expert guide in Nasrid history. The Nasrid Palaces open the route with the Mexuar, the Palace of Comares and the Court of the Lions, explaining the function of each room, the meaning of the epigraphic ornamentation and the operation of the Nasrid court. The Alcazaba, the oldest part of the complex, offers from the Torre de la Vela the most complete panoramic view of Granada and the vega. The Generalife Gardens close the visit with the historic gardens and centuries-old irrigation channels of the sultans' retreat palace.
What you'll see
